What is a mobile camping safari?

The word’ safari’ translates from Swahili to English  to signify ‘journey’ . And this is safari in the purest form.

Mobile safaris involve small groups of travelers that move to different locations every three or four, staying in tented camps erected specifically for the group. These are the original types of safari, and allow for the excitement of new landscapes and animal populations that can vary greatly from region to region. Most of your time will be in the magnificent Okavango Delta, which offers an amazing variety within itself, but with enough time, trek with us to the Kalahari desert! 

That said, this is NOT your basic camping safari offered by many others. No dome tents and bedrolls here! You're going to enjoy large and roomy heavy canvas tents, made in Botswana, as well as custom designed beds and mattresses, also made in Botswana! White linens, cozy fresh duvets,  Li-ion powered lights and fans for your tents....a private toilet and shower attached. No bought ready means or sandwiches here! You will have a dedicated camp chef ready to accommodate your preferences, and everything is prepared fresh each day.

A camping safari is perfect for you if you love the idea of exploration, hopping into the game viewer, and excitedly anticipating  where we go next! 

Wake up in large, walk-in-sized canvas tents with en-suite ‘bush bathrooms’ and comfortable bed cots, come out to enjoy coffee or tea and rusk to start the day. . 

Thrilling game drives in the mornings and afternoons, and evenings under the stars.  

Stop and enjoy a picnic in the bush; arrive after a brilliant morning of safari to a freshly prepared lunch.

After lunch, indulge in a siesta or a book, then join us for high tea, and our afternoon activities.

Maybe a mokoro ride? The traditional canoe ride will give you the most zen you've ever imagined, gliding silently among the water lilies.

A sundowner is bound to become a tradition you want to carry home and into your everyday life, 

Finally, arrive back to camp and a hot three course dinner, a glass of wine or a beer. Drag your chair up to the campfire for conversation and camaraderie that would never be possible in the outside world.

Hey, no judgement. Those trips are amazing. And you stay in just one or two lodges for the entire trip so you can  comfortably spread out for days, lounge in the pool, book a massage. But they are a bit further removed from the up close and personal experience of a mobile camping safari. Not to mention the cost per night  camping is a fraction of the cost of the luxury lodges!. Want  a bit of pampering? We can book a night or two for you at a lodge in the middle of your camping trip, depending on their availability and your credit card. Our camping trips are known as "serviced", meaning our camp staff will set up and break down camp, and you won't be stuck doing dishes!

Our guides are experienced  experts in tracking and interacting with wild animals. They will be by your side at all times. Pay attention to orientation, keep your tents zipped, don't stray. 

We think a safari is safer than a subway!

We normally only offer private, customized trips at this time. In the future we may explore offering a shorter camping trip with a set quarterly schedule, on which you could travel with like-minded individuals .
