12-Day Safari Adventure: Okavango Delta, Maun & Nxai Pan
Day 1 – Welcome to Botswana
Arrive in Maun, where your safari guide and crew will greet you. Drive into the Okavango Delta and settle into your private mobile camp. As the sun sets, enjoy your first game drive and then gather around the campfire for dinner under a canopy of stars.
Days 2–8 – Okavango Delta Safari
Spend a full week immersed in the wilderness of the Delta. Each day begins with the sounds of the bush – distant lion calls, hippos grunting, and birds greeting the dawn.
Morning game drives reveal elephants, lions, giraffes, and possibly elusive leopards.
Mokoro excursions take you quietly along winding channels where you’ll see hippos, crocodiles, and dazzling birdlife at eye level.
Learn to track wildlife on foot and learn the secrets of the Delta’s ecosystem.
Evenings bring glowing sunsets, crackling campfires, and hearty meals prepared by your safari chef. Nights are spent in spacious ensuite tents with private bathrooms – the perfect balance of comfort and adventure.
Day 9 – Return to Maun
After a final morning drive, you’ll return to Maun for a night at a cozy guest house. Enjoy a hot shower, a soft bed, and a relaxed evening before the next stage of your journey.
Day 10 – Nxai Pan National Park
This morning you’ll head east into the striking landscapes of Nxai Pan, part of the great Makgadikgadi system. The salt pans stretch endlessly, dotted with springbok, oryx, and giraffes. In the afternoon, take your first game drive across this open terrain, ending with sundowners overlooking the shimmering horizon.
Day 11 – Nxai Pan Exploration
Spend the day exploring Nxai Pan.
Visit the legendary Baines’ Baobabs, a group of ancient trees painted by explorer Thomas Baines in the 1800s.
Search for cheetahs on the hunt – Nxai’s wide plains are perfect for these swift predators.
Watch herds of antelope gather at the waterholes while elephants roam the pans.
As the day ends, relax around camp and enjoy your last night in the wild under one of Africa’s clearest night skies.
Day 12 – Farewell Botswana
Enjoy a final morning game drive before returning to Maun in time for your onward flight. Take with you unforgettable memories of close-up wildlife encounters, golden sunsets, and nights under the stars.
